When it comes to West Maui attractions and activities, the sky is the limit! From enjoying a delicious Ululani's Shave Ice under the shade of Lahaina's Banyan Tree to a day of fun in the sun at Ka'anapali Beach, there is no shortage of attractions to make your day in paradise a memorable one.

Some of our favorite West Maui activities include:

Attend a Luau

When staying in Lahaina or Kaanapali, The Sheraton Maui Luau offers a wonderful experience. Watch hula dancers, fire spinners and musicians perform while sipping a mai tai and enjoying delicious local food.

Grand Wailea Luau

For a more intimate luau and authentic culinary experience, head to The Sunset Luau at Kapalua Bay. The small size of the audience (capped at 40 persons) grants every guest a front-row seat. Plus, Montage Executive Chef Eric Faivre's visionary plated three-course dinner, is a superlative island feast.

Hop Aboard a Boat Tour

Trilogy Excursions offers a wonderful assortment of boat tours from West Maui, including a Ka'anapali Sunset Sail, Lahaina Picnic Snorkel & Sail, Ka'anapali Snorkel, and even sailing and snorkeling trips to the neighbor island of Lanai!

Private Sailing Charter

In stark contrast to the blustery seas of Maui’s north shore, the waters off Lahaina are consistently calm and perfect for sailing. Book a private sailing cruise with Nova and climb aboard their 42-foot sailboat, which operates out of breezy Ma’alaea Harbor and make your way west to calmer waters, getting the best of both worlds. West Maui is already stunning, but the views from the sea are unique and unforgettable!

Lanai Dolphin, Shipwreck & Snorkel Tour

Hosting a variety of exciting excursions aboard a 57 foot yacht, a tour with Island Star is an adventure from start to finish. This sailing yacht takes guests through the 'Au'au channel to survey ghostly old shipwrecks, possibly see dolphins, and snorkel some of Lana'i's most secluded reefs. Thanks to their smaller vessel with seats just above the ocean surface, you can also expect incredibly up close humpback whale encounters in season.

Alternatively, raft tours can be a blast if you're up for a thrilling ride. Maui Adventure Cruises hosts small-group snorkel excursions to Lanai, which are great for those seeking a more intimate experience.

Founded by Master Glassblower Ryan Staub, who has more than two decades of experience in several countries, Maui visitors and residents are invited to join a glassblowing class to create their own memorable souvenir. Choose from Hawaiian-inspired pieces like a colorful glass fish or starfish, or go abstract with a glass sea float or floppy-edged bowl. Whatever you decide to create, rest assured that you will get the personalized attention you need from a seasoned glassblowing professional, and will have a new skill - and souvenir - to show off after you return home. Touted as Lahaina’s only furnace glassblowing studio, Moana Glass goes above and beyond to create a memorable experience for you and your travel companions.
