This annual event takes place across the Hawaiian Islands (Big Island, Oahu, and Maui) for culinary events stretched across a string of incredible days. Events range from spectacular adult only soirées to hands-on events with the keiki. Award winning master chefs come from all over the country to cook for Maui locals and those smart enought to book their vacations during the event window.

Kimo's Maui

5. Kimo's Maui - Temporarily Closed

Kimo's is a local favorite and our pick for Best Lunch Spot on Maui! With ocean views and friendly service, stop here for a delicious meal with a view. Lunch is served daily from 11:00am to 3:30pm and includes pupus, salads, seafood specialities, burgers, sandwiches and dessert. We recommend the Koloa Pork Ribs, Fresh Fish Tacos, Paniolo Burger and Chef's Special Hula Pie. Kimo's is also a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a sunset cocktail and live entertainment later in the day.

Fleetwood's Maui

6. Fleetwoods on Front Street - Temporarily Closed

Owned by Mick Fleetwood of the popular band Fleetwood Mac, this Front Street staple offers some of the best views possible from its stunning rooftop deck. Not only did they win the 2014 Aipono Gold Award for Best Cocktails on Maui, but they won our vote as well! Grab an ocean-view seat on the roof for happy hour, daily from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, and enjoy live entertainment while sipping a speciality cocktail. We recommend the Fleetwood's Pimm's Cup with muddled strawberries, mint and cucumber, Pimm's No. 1, Grand Marnier, Lemon, Orange Juice and Ginger Beer, or the Starshine with Ocean Vodka, Local Starfruit, Housemade Vanilla & Mint Simple Syrup, Fresno Chile and Li Hing Mui salted rim.

Serving up fresh, house made noodles and asian dishes, Star Noodle has definitely made a name for itself in West Maui. Our pick for Best Quick Grinds, stop by Star Noodle for delicious, incredible lunch items like the Steamed Pork Buns, Vietnamese Crepe or Filipino "Bacon & Eggs". Also don't miss the delicious Malasadas with Chocolate and Butterscotch Caramel Sauces for dessert. For the day-drinking inclined, try the Asian Pear Sake Cocktail.

8. Honu Seafood & Pizza - Temporarily Closed

From the same owners of Mala Ocean Tavern, Maui Tacos and Penne Pasta Cafe comes Honu Seafood and Pizza, which offers delicious food items in a picturesque, charming oceanfront setting with 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean and neighbor islands of Molokai and Lanai. We recommend the Kale Salad, Dungeness Crab Mac and Cheese, Bikini Blonde Battered Ono Fish and Chips and Ahi Sausage Brick Oven Pizza. Top it off with a Guava Kaffir Rita, Honu Refresh or Rosemary Small Cocktaill with Whiskey, Fresh Lime, Grapefruit Juice and Fresh Rosemary.

9. Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice - Closed

While Ululani's technically isn't an option for full service dining, shave ice is pretty much its own food group in Hawaii. Our pick for Best Shave Ice (not only in Lahaina, but all of Maui), Ululani's is out to prove that not all shave ice is created equal. Using premium purees, natural fruit juices, extracts, concentrates and local ingredients, the flavors here are out of this world. We recommend the No Ka Oi with Coconut, Mango and Lilikoi, the Citrus Squeeze with Pink Lemonade, Lemon and Lime and the Hawaiian Rainbow with Strawberry, Pineapple and Vanilla. Add a Snow Cap, scoop of Roselani's Ice Cream or Homemade Azuki Beans (when available) for a local flare.

Kapenas Maui

10. Kapena's Wood Fired Kitchen - Permanently Closed

If you've ever been aboard a Trilogy sailing excursion, you know how good their food and service are. And now, thanks to Kapena's Wood Fired Kitchen in Lahaina, visitors can get a taste of Trilogy's warm hospitality and delicious recipes while on dry land. Family-owned and operated by Trilogy's proprietors, this sleek new pizza joint boasts one of the few kiawe wood-fired ovens on the island and uses authentic ingredients imported from Italy. But some of the pies are infused with local flavor, too. Try the "Local Kine," topped with spam, pineapple, bacon, red onion, and jalapeno. Kapena's is only open for dinner from 4 pm. In the morning, the restaurant serves as Trilogy's catering kitchen. Gotta bake those delicious cinnamon rolls somewhere, right?

Unfortunately, Kapena's Wood Fired Kitchen was lost in the Lahaina wilfires and will not be reopening. We will miss this lovely eatery.

11. Lahaina Grill - Permanently Closed

Named "Best Maui Restaurant" by the Honolulu Magazine readers' poll for 21 consecutive years, Lahaina Grill is our pick for the Best Fine Dining in Lahaina Town. Open for dinner from 5:30pm nightly, head to Lahaina Grill for excellent items like the Baked Escargots, Sauteed Local Mahi Mahi, Maui Onion & Sesame Seed Crusted Seared Ahi and Kona Coffee Roasted Colorado Rack of Lamb. Try the Kula Lime Tart or Kauai Pie for dessert and enjoy top-notch service in a beautiful Maui setting.

Unfortunately, Lahaina Grill was lost in the Lahaina wilfires and will not be reopening. A true delight that will be terribly missed.

12. Kobe Japanese Steakhouse - Permanently Closed

Voted the Best Japanese Restaurant on Maui, Kobe Steakhouse is also our pick for lively dining on Maui. Grab a seat at Oku's Sushi Bar and watch as the chefs masterfully prepare your meal. We recommend the Kobe Assorted Sushi Plate with 6 pieces of Nigiri Sushi and 1 Tuna Roll, Hibachi Steak or Steak & Opokapaka Teppanyaki Entree Selection. Dancing and karaoke are offered every Friday and Saturday night, so grab your friends and family and enjoy a lively time in Lahaina!
